Integral Module Rack

The patient monitors are available in two integrated modular racks: 2-slot and 5-slot. The control board contains a NIOS II FPGA. Realizes protocol conversion and infrared communication between host and parameter module

The module rack communication card can have 2 or 3 slots. The 3-slot communication card communicates directly with the motherboard. The 2-slot communication card is connected and controlled by the 3-slot communication card. The 3-slot communication card has a communication control function. The 2-slot communication card consists of an infrared circuit and a module power supply circuit. The RS422 driver board is located on the 3-slot communication board.

Removing the Integral Module Rack

Disconnect the cable that connects the integrated module frame to the motherboard. Unscrew the five M3 × 8 screws and remove the built-in module holder.

Disconnect the cable that connects the communication board of the MPM frame to the communication board of the 3-slot module housing. Release the two buttons and remove the NiosII module from the 3-slot module holder.

Loosen the eight M3 × 6 screws, and then remove the 3-slot modular rack communication card and the MPM modular rack communication card.

Note: Do not forget the ground spring when assembling.

Loosen the hex nut with the sleeve. Then separate the disc, spring and contact pin.

Module Rack Failures

Symptoms	Possible Cause	Corrective Action
Integral module rack cannot identify parameter modules	Module failure	Replace the parameter module. If a new module is identified, the original module is defective.
	Cable defective or poorly connected	1. Check that the cables from the 3-slot module rack communication board to the MPM module rack communication board and from the module rack to the main board are properly connected. 2. Check that the connection cables and plugs are not damaged
	Wrong communication board software revision	Upgrade the program of the module or Integral module rack.
	Module (in some slots) unrecognized	Replace the corresponding module rack communication board.
	Power supply to integral module rack abnormal	1. Check if voltage between two contact screws in any slot reaches 12VDC. If yes and the parameter module functions, PCB assembly in the SMR might fail. 2. If there is no 12V sent to the integrated module rack, check that power module output voltage to mother board reaches 12V DC. If yes, mother board might fail.
	3-slot or MPM module rack communication board failure	Replace the 3-slot or MPM module rack communication board.
	Nios II module failure	Replace the Nios II module.
	Mother board failure	Replace the mother board.
